I appreciate normally this email section is for light hearted fun from within the football world, however if I might, i'd like to offer a serious point for you here.
As you will be well aware by now Bradford City and Crawley Town are the subject of a FA Investigation after the "Mass Brawl" that occurred after the game on Tuesday evening. I would like to point out amongst those listening now that Bradford really isn't being shown in the best light by the media, yes the video footage shows our three players steaming in (in particular our goal keeper with a mean right hook, although he can't punch a ball like that) however what it doesn't show in any of the highlights is that we had to put up with 90 minutes of dirty, unfair play and bad sportsmanship only reminiscent of the Leeds Utd team of the 1980s.
Crawley received 6 yellow cards during that game for foul play, the officials did not have the balls to actually send anybody off even though at least 3 tackles warranted straight reds, one tackle in particular meant that one of our second half substitutes 'Ricky Ravenhill' had to go off again due to injury when he got studs to the ankle from behind, with the ball nowhere near! We also had Steve Evans prancing up and down the touchline like a deranged bear with a sore head even though everything was going his way!
Now I DO NOT condone any of the actions taken by our players and whatever sanctions are handed out i'm sure will be received in all seriousness of the matter, but how much longer does a club have to go on playing under conditions of incredibly poor officiating and against dirty tactics. While this might sound like something a sore loser would say it is far from that, Crawley won the game fair and square and we conceded two very sloppy goals but it could have been a very different story had the officiating been correct and to the book.
There is a long list of "questionable" decisions handed out by referees this season including Bradford scoring 5 goals (6 if you include the own goal) against Shrewsbury Town last Saturday and only drawing the game 2-2, one goal that was disallowed for offside and then over ruled by referee Scot Mathieson, actually was offside! Officiating in league 2 is an absolute joke!
I hope this puts the record straight at least for a little while until the media gets something else on Bradford.
